Introducing: The Year Round

The Year Round is the newest offering from Living Library Press. This paperback reprint of a 1932 nature guide, written and illustrated by Clarence Hylander, is an excellent adjunct to a student’s nature studies.

Mr. Hylander states that his purpose in writing the book is to assist not only the student, but the parent or teacher who does not possess a thorough and complete knowledge of nature to be able to help his students identify what they have seen in the out-of-doors. Yet, the book is sufficiently clear and simple for an elementary child to use for himself. While the author has focused on the northeast United States, many of the specimens and most of the topics addressed are common to other regions as well. The pen and ink drawings have been faithfully reproduced and add charm to the trove of knowledge waiting to be discovered within these pages.

We heartily recommend this book for Charlotte Mason students’ use in their term by term special studies. Nearly all the topics covered in the Special Studies Rotation are elaborated upon within this volume.
