I like some of the stories in this book, such as “Like the Old Nurse,” “The Blue Lotus,” “The Proud Infanta,” and “You Can’t Darn That Hole.” But my favorite one is “Bertha Goldfoot.”  I like it because she always has to have her socks mended since her gold foot is so heavy that it rips her socks.

[I like this book because it has captivated my daughter, who struggles with reading.  She has checked it out at least 10 times; that says much about the book, since only recently has she been able to read it by herself.–Note from Kellie’s mom.]
